A Message From Lumegent Regarding the Coronavirus

The COVID-19, Coronavirus pandemic is impacting family, friends, business and communities across the world. We share in the worldwide concern for the spread of COVID-19 and have taken the proper precautions to ensure the safety of all employees at Lumegent and those that we work with. There is no issue more important to us than making sure that we manage this situation as effectively as possible.

Simple Tips to Improve Warehouse Efficiency

As a full-service marketing and consulting agency, Lumegent sees projects from beginning to end, including warehousing and distribution. Although it’s easy to only see the “front end” of marketing, such as design and content, the back end is just as important. Our warehouse packages and distributes thousands of items every week, ensuring our clients receive their items in a timely fashion.

Creating an Evolving Marketing Team

Marketing is constantly evolving. The industry isn’t the same as it was 5 or 10 years ago. Even last year featured a changing and growing marketing environment. As the old saying goes, we must adapt or die—or else our marketing endeavors will no longer be relevant.

Effective Marketing and Business Leader of the Year Awards

The Fallon Chamber of Commerce presented Lumegent with the Effective Marketing Award and CEO Billy Thompson with the Business Leader of the Year Award at the Chamber’s annual Awards Banquet on February 2. Businesses throughout the Fallon community—such as Louie’s Ace Home Center, Frey Ranch Estate Distillery, and The Wok—all received awards and recognition at this festive event.

Building Leadership Within Your Company

One of the most common myths about leadership is that you must be born a leader. Although there are natural-born leaders, many professionals in leadership positions have grown into their roles over time. Leadership is a process, not a trait.

The Devil’s in the Data

You’ve already done the hard part—you’ve developed a content marketing framework for your company, you’re engaging clients through social media and direct mail, and you’ve got a production schedule to boot. You’re excited to enjoy the fruits of your labor, but you’re not sure how to measure the efficacy of your marketing strategy.

The Importance of Direct Mail

It’s no secret that marketing campaigns have shifted to the digital realm. Companies are ditching flyers and postcards and are instead opting for social media, email, video, and other digital channels. While the internet serves as the bedrock for most marketing efforts, it’s important for a company to implement an integrated marketing strategy to maximize reach.

Billy Thompson Places Third in Local Dance Fundraiser

Lumegent CEO Billy Thompson and his dance partner, Madison Blea, placed third at Fallon’s 11th annual Dancing with the Stars on March 17. With Jurassic World as their theme, Billy and Madison captured the crowd at the Churchill County High School gym with their movie cosplay, inflatable dinosaurs, and dance routine aptly named the “Jurassic Charleston.” Their dance featured a series of impressive lifts and twirls, all stirred together with a hip-hop flavor. Moreover, the Lumegent team supported Billy by wearing company gear to the event as well as sporting “Billy heads” during his performance.

Content Marketing and Your Brand

Standard marketing practices historically hinge on one thing—the campaign. The general idea of the pitch is defined in the campaign, and the blank areas for content are filled in last. With content marketing, that concept is turned upside down. Content marketing is akin to creating a product; it’s building a concrete idea that becomes an extension of your brand. When these ideas come together through cohesive content, they become assets that can be applied to your campaign goals.

Biometrics: The Next Marketing Frontier

With the prevalence of science fiction in today’s entertainment landscape, the word “biometrics” has become part of society’s pop culture lexicon. We’ve all witnessed movie scenes in which scientists or doctors gain access to top-secret facilities by use of retinal scanners or hand-recognition software. However, biometric identification is already widely used—no spaceships or robots required. In fact, biometrics are simply defined as body measurements or calculations used to identify people.

Why We Need Company Outings

A healthy, vibrant culture is important to any successful business. Employees want to feel secure at their workplace, but even more than that, they want to belong. You’ve probably heard the term “culture fit” in reference to the candidate selection process. When hiring new employees, it’s imperative to on-board individuals who match your company’s culture, mission, and values.

Lumegent, CrossFit Cowboy Officially Partner

Sean Sweeney, known as the CrossFit Cowboy, officially signed a marketing and public relations contract with Lumegent on Friday night. Sweeney is the first professional athlete Lumegent will represent. To celebrate the new partnership, Lumegent hosted a signing party at its Fallon, Nevada, headquarters replete with live DJ music, catering by the Running Iron Cafe, a kids’ CrossFit challenge, and the reveal of Sweeney’s CrossFit Cowboy logo. There were hundreds of guests in attendance including an appearance by Senator James Settelmeyer, who represents Churchill County at the Nevada Senate.

Tackling Employee Turnover

It’s no secret—turnover in the marketing and advertising industry is exceedingly high. The annual turnover rate for advertising reaches upward of 30 percent. The only industry with a higher turnover rate is hospitality, which sits at 37 percent. The key distinction between these two industries, however, is the transient nature of hospitality; employees often move around from resort to resort, or they only work seasonally. Why, then, is turnover in a creative industry like marketing and advertising so high?

Tools for Local Businesses to Reach Travelers

When you think about New York City, what comes to mind? Is it the glamour and excitement of Broadway? Is it the stalwart Statue of Liberty overlooking New York Harbor? Or do you think about strolls through Central Park? If you’re not native to the Big Apple, you probably think about the city in terms of its various tourist attractions.

Advergaming Explained

If you’ve played mobile games before, you’ve most likely seen banner ads along the bottom, top, or sides of your screen. Other mobile games display video ads during transition periods, such as completing a turn or advancing to the next level. Words with Friends is a good example of these advertising methods, as the game displays both banner and video ads.

Lumegent Athlete Sean Sweeney Qualifies for Third CrossFit Games

Fallon’s own Sean Sweeney is a CrossFit legend – but a lot of people don’t know that. Yet.

You wouldn’t know it just by talking to the jovial Fallon native, but Sweeney is one of only four male CrossFit athletes that has qualified for the CrossFit Games thus far this year. Recently returning from an underdog victory at CrossFit’s Fittest in Cape Town competition in South Africa, we spoke with Sweeney about his career and passion.
